Crushing and Screening Plants

These products are used in industries such as quarrying, mining, landfill, aggregate production, demolition, and recycling.

Crushing plants are static or mobile assemblies containing a range of equipment, such as a prescreener, loading conveyor, intake hopper, magnetic separator, crushing unit (jaw crusher, cone crusher etc.), screens, undersized conveyor and oversized conveyor (perhaps returning material for further crushing). The Crushing Plants fall into three groups:

  • Jaw Crusher
  • Cone Crusher
  • Impact Crusher

Jaw crushers are used for the processing of hard primary, secondary or recycled feedstocks such as rock and concrete. This is done by a pair of vertical jaws lined with replaceable manganese steel plates, one jaw is fixed and the other moves back and forth. The jaws are positioned so there is a wide opening at the top known as the gape and a narrow discharge aperture at the bottom set to the desired output size dependent of specification required.

A Cone crusher can be used as either a secondary crusher or as a tertiary crusher to further reduce size of the end product. This type of crusher produces a more uniformed size of stone. The cone crusher comprises of a vertical conical chamber with a feed opening at the top and a vertical conical crushing head inside. The crushing head is lined with protective pieces known as the mantle. The chamber is also lined with protective pieces, commonly called concaves.

Impact crushers come in several forms. For example, vertical shaft impactors, hammer mills, ball mills and rod mills (these final two are less likely to be used in recycling for aggregate production).

An Impact crusher is usually used as a secondary or tertiary crusher but can also be used as a primary crusher. It is used for crushing material like granite, basalt, bluestone, etc. It is widely used for a variety of metals and non-metallic minerals, cement, abrasives, glass raw materials, construction aggregate, sand, metallurgical and other industries. Applicable for crushing of various ores and rocks, such as iron ore, non-ferrous metal ore, corundum, bauxite, quartz sand, corundum, perlite, basalt materials.

Screening Plants

These can be used for sand and gravel applications or as part of a crushing plant. The purpose of the screen is to separate and grade aggregates into different size fractions. Screening equipment can be used to remove contamination and large materials unsuitable for further processing, or to produce specific aggregate gradings. Screens can be mounted in decks, or placed in series, such that the material passing the first screen is further screened to remove smaller particles. This approach produces single size aggregates and graded aggregates.

Crushing and Screening Plant Parts

We understand that our customers’ crushers and screens are an integral part of their aggregate production and also that the parts need replacing seasonally. We can supply jaws, mantles, liners, meshes, shafts and bearings for all types and brand of crushing and screening plants including Parker Plant, Pegson, Sandvik, Powerscreen and Finlay. Not only can we replace wear parts for crushing and screening plants but also electrical components. We can provide a whole package of parts for the refurbishment of your plant or simply a replacement part alone.
